Sainsburys have Stopped Selling Battery Eggs

Sainsburys supermarkets have followed up on their 2007 pledge to stop selling eggs from battery farmed (caged) chickens – they are the first major retailer in the UK to do so.

Normal cages are outlawed from 2012 under EU rules but Sainsburys has gone one better by not using caged hens at all and going entirely free-range / organic.

Now to persuade the other “big 3” to follow suit!
