DMBLGIT July 2008 – The Winners

August 12th, 2008 by Scott | Print this page Print This Article | Leave a Comment

It’s half way through August already and I’m only just revealing the winners of July’s “Does My Blog Look Good In This” food photograpy competition.  Well, there’s nothing like keeping people in suspense…

The judges, by the way, were myself, Trig, Julia and Amy.  As way of thanks you should all hug them next time you see them.

Well done to all those who won (who are quite entitled to display the DMBLGIT logo, right, on their blog by way of reward) and even those who didn’t – all of you took fantastic photographs!  Make sure to check out Andreea’s blog for the August edition of DMBLGIT, too.

Drum roll please!

The wait is finally over!!! Congratulations to all the winners. Definitely something to aspire to.

  2. Syrie says:

Weeeeeeee! I am on holiday in NY and just happened to check the website to see if the winners were announced. I’m thrilled to say the least. Thank you to all the judges and congratulations to Kim of My Plate, My World, Eborina of Eborina in Cucina, Gato Azul, Su-Lin of Tamarind & Thyme, Beau a la Louche and Chuck at Sunday Nite Dinner.

  3. Chuck says:

Woo Hoo! What a pleasant surprise!!! Thanks for hosting and thanks to the judges!

  4. YAY! I feel like I’m on Mount Everest! But not to worry, I won’t ever rest ;-P! THANK YOU for hosting, THANK YOU, Dear Judges (Trig, Julia, Amy and Scott) Congratulations to all the fierce competition and to all the winners. WHOOPPPEEE! You made my day!

  5. Congrats to all the winners! I gotta say, being a judge wasn’t easy!! It took me a long time to do it because they all were great. It was difficult to decide which got a lower number than the other! This was a great lot of food pictures, that’s for sure.

I’m still having acid-like flashbacks of that “Psychadelic Cake”. Ha ha ha.

  6. Trig says:

Apologies to everyone who was kept waiting for this and many thanks to Scott for shouldering the pressure without naming and shaming. I must now confess that it was me who was responsible for the results being delayed, due to pressure of work, so my apologies to everyone.

Looking at the results, what really pleases me is the degree of unanimity amongst the four judges, without any collaboration. I’ve just checked the 7 winning photos and every one of them was in my top scoring band for the category concerned. Samples of the winning dishes should be sent to me at the address on my blog.

    Well done to everyone!

  7. scott says:

Olga: Definitely. One day I might even come close to winning myself (fingers crossed)…

Syrie: You can’t win without talent – so it’s well deserved!

Chuck: Well done – and no need for thanks, it’s what I get paid for ;)

Louise (Gato Azul): Heh – glad to see it made you happy!

We Are Never Full: Thanks again for helping out. And you’re right, that cheesecake IS pretty scary!

Trig: Agreed, well done to all. It’s even better that all the judges had roughly the same opinions – although all the photographs were great!
