Blame it on the dog!

If I place a photo of my (Wife’s) Puppy – called Angel – in a post, does it excuse the fact that I haven’t being very active for a while? Will it cover for the fact my blog is looking sorely rejected?

Staffy Puppy

Anyway, on a slightly different subject…

My New Year’s Resolutions

  1. Lose some weight. That’s a cliché, I know, but it’s still on the to do list. If you have any dieting tips that won’t mean me sacrificing the food I live, send ‘em over!
  2. Eat more fruit and veg. 5 a day, they say; I’ve never counted, but I’m sure I don’t hit that many. Who’s up for a detox?
  3. Learn to bake. Don’t get me wrong, I know a few bits and pieces, but my Wife’s the baker around here. Knowing my laziness for all things precise she bought me a Mixer for Christmas – so now I have no excuse. Perhaps all the cakes and bread will contradict resolutions 1 and 2, but life’s full of contradictions anyway, isn’t it?
  4. Take better photographs. I will learn, goddamnit!

Now, all that stands in the way of me achieving these is my willpower. Who’s betting that this time next year those resolutions look exactly the same?

Have a great New Year!

Happy New Year! Thx for sharing your resolutions. Mine involve actually cooking more. I can cook, but it’s time to actually use those skills :0)

Aww, the puppy is so cute! I think i have the same resolutions as you, well apart from the loosing weight (if I was any lighter I think i’d float away) but I want to eat healthier and the right amount of fruit and veg.
It started last night, I make a carrot, leek and potato soup with my girlfriend. This was the first soup i’ve ever made, and it was soo tasty! Off the thg gym on Tues, Thurs and on the weekend, and more walks in the country.
I want to learn more Latvian words and hopefully start make sentances.
I also want to spend less money (or just earn more!) :P

Lil: Great to be “back”. Happy new year to you!

tanya: Right back at you! Cooking more can never be a bad thing (unless you’re fat. I’d better shut my mouth!)

Mike: Wow, Latvian – I bet that’s difficult! Polish is a pain in the backside for me to get my head around, but I really believe everyone should speak more than one language…

  5. Mike says:

I’m bad at languages so its even harder. I can not read words and they sound like they should (more or less), but now I need to learn alot more words and could to twenty :)

  7. scott says:

Mike: Heh…I know how it feels.

Nicisme: I’ll be sure to do it! perhaps I’ll even start this weekend :)

  8. Katie says:

Okay, you’re excused…but only because the dog is so darned cute!

  9. scott says:

Katie: She’ll be so pleased to hear that – I’ll let her know!

  10. Scott,
Great resolutions.. and not too many so you have big chance to succeed! The worst is when you make too many of them…
Good luck with learning Polish, hehe :)

OMG it’s Yoda!!! Too adorable. Is she teaching you Jedi culinary arts?

  12. scott says:

Coffee & Vanilla: I need the luck – it’s too difficult for me!

Jeanne: Haha, Yoda it is. She’s teaching me all kinds of things – her kung fu skills have to be seen to be believed.
