Sainsburys supermarkets have followed up on their 2007 pledge to stop selling eggs from battery farmed (caged) chickens - they are the first major retailer in the UK to do so.
Normal cages are outlawed from 2012 under EU rules but Sainsburys has gone one better by not using caged hens at all and going entirely free-range / organic.
Now to persuade the other "big 3" to follow suit!
Chemicals on veggies to be banned
Kind of; European MPs have voted in favour of stricter controls on harmful chemicals, pesticides and fertilisers which are sprayed on our food (note that some of these are PROVEN to cause illnesses such as cancer on lab rats!).
Good; always eat organic where possible so that you know what you are eating.
